Comfort technology
Dr. Stern has invested in some of the latest technology available, so that you can benefit from the best that modern dentistry has to offer. This includes high-tech solutions for comfortable dental care, such as:
- Digital radiology – High resolution, detailed images provide a much better diagnostic tool, but that is not the only advantage to x-rays. This system also eliminates the need to bite down on uncomfortable film strips, and it significantly reduces your radiation exposure.
- Air abrasion – Do you hate the sound and vibration of a dental drill? We do not know anyone who enjoys it! Micro-air abrasion utilizes the power of air pressure coupled with ultra-fine abrasives to remove damaged tooth material gently and precisely. In most cases, we can prepare a cavity for filling without using a drill.
- VibraJect – Local anesthetic injections numb the treatment area so you can be comfortable during a procedure. However, the injection itself is not so comfortable, at least not with traditional techniques. VibraJect use gentle vibration to mask the pinching sensation of the injection.
Gentle sedation
We offer nitrous oxide, which is better known as “laughing gas” due to the mild euphoric effect. It will not render you unconscious, nor will it have lasting effects that prevent you from driving yourself home. However, it will take the edge off anxiety, increase your comfort, reduce gag reflexes, and make your dental experience more pleasant. Due to the gentle nature of nitrous oxide, it is appropriate for adults and children.
